St. Bartholomew
Parish is a welcoming and inclusive Catholic Community of faith.
As disciples of Jesus Christ we commit ourselves to sharing our
Christian faith as well as our time, talents and resources for
the welfare of all God's people.

Anne Schaefer-Salinas,
a member of the parish since 1989, is our Council President.
She and husband Mike were married here at St. Barts, and
their first child, Declan, was born in August 2006. Anne has
served on the Pastoral Council since 1999 and also serves as
a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and member of the choir. In the
past, she has helped with Youth Ministry (as a volunteer and
as Youth Minister), been a Confirmation Catechist and Co-Coordinator,

Julie Douglass
moved to Hillsborough in 2001 and became a member of the parish
at that time. Her childrenCaroline, Alexandra and Connorare
her current ministry, and have been active in Faith Formation.
I am new to the Parish Council and one of my goals is to
become educated about, and involved with ministry opportunities

Doreen Finerty
has been a member of St. Barts for 29 years. She has served
on the council for the past two years as the representative for
the Womans Guild. Doreen has also been involved in ministry
with St. Vincent de Paul for the past 14 years making sandwiches
every Tuesday. She is a Eucharistic Minister to the Sick here

Bill Hill and
his wife Susan have been members of the Parish since 1975. Their
daughter Catherine received her first communion and catechesis
at St. Barts. She is a recent Graduate of the University
of Southern California in Los Angeles. Bill and Susan have been
active in several ministries in the Parish; but, Bill is new
to the Parish Council and looking forward to this new opportunity

Karen Lea Khu has
been part of St. Barts on and off since 1983. She first
moved to the Bay Area for school in 1983, but left to pursue
further education, and later, a career on the East Coast. She
returned to the Bay Area in 1998 with her daughter and has been
in the parish since. Fr. Mike asked her to join the parish council
in February 2006. Although I may be new to the council,
I am more than happy to help. I hope I can facilitate greater

Mary Kircher
and husband Matthew have three children; Ryan and Will both attend
St. Ignatius, and Kate attends South Hillsborough School. Mary
has been a member of the Parish Council for four years and an
Elementary Faith Formation catechist for nine years. She also
serves as a Eucharistic Minister, has helped with Hospitality
and the Golf & Tennis Tournament and has been instrumental

Mike McNab emigrated
from Dublin, Ireland, in 1980 and has been a parishioner at St.
Barts since 1982. He and wife, Kay, have two childrenAlan
and Catherineand a grand-daughter Madeleine. Mike, who
retired from the satellite business in 1999, is interested in
history, philosophy and literature. He has served on the parish

Joe Pert has
been in the parish since 1967 and started answering the phones
at the rectory when he was in high school. Joe has been on the
council for 8 years. Hes also been involved in marriage
preparation, the liturgy committee, and as an usher. I
help with the pancake breakfasts, which is a blast. He

Vivianne Ratinoff moved
back to the Bay Area in 1998, and since then, has been attending
St. Barts with her family. She has been a lector for about
five years, as well as Eucharistic Minister, and now is in the
choir at the 5:30 p.m. Sunday Mass. One of her favorite songs
is Here I am Lord. So, when she was asked by Fr.
Mike to join the Parish Council late in 2006, she accepted and

Betty Jue Tan
joined St. Bart in 1988. Her son, Robert, received his religious
training and First Communion at the parish. In 1989 she and her
family moved to the East Bay. Since returning to San Mateo in
2001, Betty has served as a Eucharistic Minister and helped with
Hospitality at St. Bart. Her daughter, Noelle, is active in the
Youth Ministry. Betty is a pharmacist. She enjoys gardening,
tennis, and skiing. She feels honored to be invited to join the
